About Mrs B & Her Lovely Moggies
Mrs B
I live in Yorkshire with my husband David and our four cats. We got married in April 2010 (and thus I became Mrs B). We already had Razz and Kain by that point but we felt our family wasn't complete. In May we adopted Buggles and then, a couple of weeks later, Charlie. We think four is the ideal number for us!
Razz and Kain
Razz and Kain were adopted from the RSPCA in June 2009. Although only two at the time, they had spent a lot of their lives so far with the RSPCA. Despite being rehomed once, they had been returned to the RSPCA when their owner moved into a flat where no pets were allowed. The shelter had looked after them wonderfully but unfortunately two (large!) adult toms were not the obvious choice for many adopters. We initially overlooked them on the website as Kain is very much an outdoors cat and we weren't sure how we would cope with him. However, as soon as we met them we were absolutely smitten and knew they were perfect for us. It's one of the best decisions we've ever made. Now over three they are both strapping lads, very healthy, happy and loving. It's believed they may be brothers: they certainly share a similar build and size and though their markings are very different, litter colours can be very varied. Whether they are brothers in blood or not, though, they couldn't be closer.
Buggles
After living with Razz and Kain for several months we began to feel that another feline face around the place would not go amiss. The 'boys' had settled in very well and we were confident we were giving them a good home. We started to wonder if we could give a good home to another cat. Again, Buggles was an RSPCA cat. He'd been found wandering alone with a serious eye injury by a member of the public. It isn't known exactly what poor Buggles went through before being found but his eye injury eventually led to the removal of the eye. Despite this, Buggles remains feisty, loving and full of fun. He has adapted to life with one eye very well. Although he got on with Razz and Kain, he wanted to play constantly (and still does!). We realised it wasn't fair to a) subject Razz and Kain to constant pestering or b) deprive Buggles of a pal and this led to us getting...
Charlie
Charlie is a tiny chap who's just a few weeks old at the moment. We don't know too much about his history but he doesn't appear to have had too difficult a start. He was with his Mum in the RSPCA and - as the rest of the litter had been rehomed - she was clearly ready for a bit of peace. Although we worried a little about introducing little Charlie to Buggles (who seems to get bigger by the second), we needn't have fussed. Charlie gives as good as he gets and often 'jumps' Buggles when the older one wants a kip! A plethora of toys keeps him entertained but his biggest delight is climbing onto the bed in the middle of the night, lying on my hair and kneading my scalp with his paws in pleasure! |
